Can’t make head or tail of your bike?
Hi, I'm Sarah, one of the founders of Cycle Maintenance Academy
I remember bringing that new bike home for the first time. it was not only super exciting (Woohoo! the possibilities) but it was also tainted with slight apprehension and worry (gulp!). The what's ifs? I knew very little about my bike. But with rag in hand, it didn't put me off, one day I attempted a deep clean on my bike. I removed the rear wheel and then struggled replacing it (argh!). I was lucky enough to have a mechanic friend I could call (phew!). Unfortunately, back then though, cassette, derailleur, pulley wheels meant nothing to me. I had no idea what she was talking about and I couldn't explain it either. After some time I succeeded but I've learned the hard way.
Does this sound familiar?
To look after your bike you don't really need a stocked workshop, you don't even have to be a practical person. What you need is clear guidance. We've stripped down bike maintenance, laid everything neatly out on the workbench and given you your own non jargon talking expert who is happy to repeat as many times as you need.
